Finjan, Inc. asserted six patents in litigation against security software company, Sophos. The patents-in-suit relate to computer and network security systems (6,154,844, 6,804,780, 7,613,918, 7,613,926, 7,757,289, 8,141,154). Finjan’s complaint accuses Sophos endpoint protection, server security, and unified threat management products of infringing the patents-in-suit. Four of the six patents (‘844, ‘780, ‘918, ‘154) were also asserted in cases filed by Finjan against Armorize Technologies, Blue Coat Systems, FireEye, Proofpoint, and Websense in 2013. Finjan, Inc. is a subsidiary of Finjan Holdings Incorporated, a former operating company acquired by M86 Security in November 2009. Finjan sued McAfee, Sophos, Symantec, Webroot, and Websense over two other security-related patents in 2010. In December 2012, a federal jury found in favor of remaining defendants Sophos, Symantec, and Websense, ruling that the security software companies did not infringe and the Finjan patents were invalid. Finjan is appealing. 3/14, California Northern District, 3:14cv01197
