American Navigation Systems (AmNav) sued Apple and Samsung this week for alleged infringement of a patent related to a hand-held GPS mapping system (5,902,347). AmNav’s complaints accuse Apple and Samsung smartphones, tablets, and personal computers that include defendants’ mapping applications. This appears to be the first time AmNav has asserted the ‘347 patent in litigation.
