In a single day inventor Simon Nicholas Richmond filed more than 50 new cases, reigniting two of its litigation campaigns. The majority of the suits involve a group of six patents related to solar-powered lights (7,196,477, 7,336,157, 7,429,827, 8,077,052, 8,089,370, 8,362,700). Companies targeted by the campaign include Ace Hardware, Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Rite Aid, Sears, and Target. Some of the cases in the campaign involve all six patents but most of the complaints assert between three and five of the patents-in-suit.
