ITUS (fka Copytele) Sub Asserts Online Auction Related Patents Against eBay

September 9, 2014

Auction Acceleration Corp (AAC), a newly incorporated entity, launched its litigation campaign by asserting two patents against Auctiva and eBay (7,296,033, 7,529,692). ITUS, formerly known as CopyTele, is the parent company for AAC. The patents-in-suit relate to promoting items on an auction website and they originated with, and are still owned by, AuctionHelper.com. AAC is the exclusive licensee of the patents-in-suit. A scrolling item gallery, created by Auctiva and used by eBay on its website, is accused of infringement. RPX reviewed the patents when they were offered for sale by AuctionHolder in August 2013 as part of an open market opportunity (AuctionHelper – OMA). 9/5, Northern District of California, 3:14cv04045
