Rotatable Patent Invalidated in IPR Proceedings

A ruling by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board invalidated all 18 claims of Rotatable Technologies’s only asserted patent (6,326,978). Rackspace filed the petition for IPR after it was sued by Rotatable, an Empire IP subsidiary, and the IPR was instituted in October 2013. The Board found all claims obvious over various prior art. Additionally, the ruling rejected Rotatable’s proposed substitute claims.
