Inventor-led Entity Starts Campaign Against Semiconductor Manufacturers
Semiconductor fabricators Micron and SK Hynix, along with Samsung and its fabrication subsidiary, are the first litigation targets for Elm 3DS Innovations, LLC, an entity incorporated in June of this year. The suit against Micron asserts 10 patents, nine of which are asserted against Samsung, and only three of which are asserted against SK Hynix. The asserted patents all relate to flash memory and DRAM integrated circuits (7,193,239, 7,504,732, 8,035,233, 8,410,617, 8,629,542, 8,653,672, 8,791,581, 8,796,862, 8,824,159, 8,841,778). Semiconductor products with multiple stacked die made by defendants or incorporated into defendants’ products are accused of infringement.
