Former Nokia Siemens Patents Asserted in Suits Against Device Makers and Wireless Carriers

Cellular Communications Equipment LLC (CCE), a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation, filed two suits against a group of mobile device makers and wireless carriers. The complaints accuse LG Electronics and Sony mobile phones of infringing three former Nokia Siemens patents not previously seen in litigation (8,385,966, 8,848,556, 8,868,060). CCE also names AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, wireless carriers it associates with the import and sale of the accused phones, as defendants.
