Acacia Research subsidiary Cellular Communications Equipment LLC (CCE) added a second suit to its most recent campaign, suing Kyocera over its mobile phones. The suit asserts two patents related to managing messages sent to a mobile device, and both were asserted in the previous suit in this campaign (8,385,966, 8,868,060). That suit, filed in December 2014, also asserted a third patent that is not involved in this case (8,848,556). Similar to the other suit in the campaign, the new litigation names a number of wireless carriers that import or sell the accused phones as defendants, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
