Conversant Continues to Target Samsung Semiconductor with New Suit and New Patents

Conversant Intellectual Property Management, Inc’s first suit of 2015 asserts 15 patents against Samsung (5,796,675, 6,107,138, 6,209,056, 6,223,331, 6,306,743, 6,313,029, 6,943,602, 7,101,791, 7,915,933, 7,940,081, 7,945,885, 7,982,532, 7,996,811, 8,253,438, RE44,218). The patents all relate to various aspects of semiconductor fabrication, and Samsung’s semiconductor chips, used in Apple devices, are accused of infringement. Apple is not a defendant in the suit. Most of the patents have not been used in previous Conversant litigation, but the ‘885 and ‘811 patents have been used in suits against Ericsson and Freescale Semiconductor.
