Acacia Sub’s Campaign Targeting Mobile Device Makers and Wireless Carriers Continues to Grow

ZTE is the latest defendant to be added to Orlando Communications LLC’s litigation campaign. The Acacia subsidiary filed three suits this week, each pairing ZTE as a codefendant with AT&T, Softbank (Sprint), or T-Mobile. Orlando Communications alleges that certain tablets, smartphones, and WiFi hotspots, manufactured by ZTE and sold by the carrier defendants, infringe two patents related to cellular network data transfer and error correction (5,687,196, 6,009,553).
