Cellular Communications Equipment Asserts Additional Nokia Patents in New Campaign

May 1, 2015

Acacia’s Cellular Communications Equipment (CCE) continues its campaign with four new suits, targeting mobile device makers and service providers. Each suit names as defendants a group of seven device makers along with one service provider. The device makers, Alcatel-Lucent, Apple, Ericsson, HTC, LGE, Samsung, and ZTE, are sued in each of the cases, while service providers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon are each named in only one suit. Three patents are asserted in the new cases, and the asserted patents relate to aspects of mobile communication (8,457,022, 8,570,957, 8,867,472). At issue in the suits are service providers’ LTE networks and the LTE-capable devices sold to users of those networks.
