Newly formed NPE Raster Printing Innovations LLC launched a campaign targeting a range of printing devices, including desktop printers and print servers. Raster’s first round of complaints hit 14 companies, including Canon, Eastman Kodak, Fujifilm, HP, Konica, and Ricoh. The suits assert three homegrown patents related to high-resolution image processing (5,796,411, 5,828,814, 5,949,438). This appears to be the first time these patents have been asserting in litigation.
