Realtime Data LLC filed a large group of new cases for the first time since 2010, suing Actian Corporation, BMC Software, Dell, Dropbox, EchoStar, HP, Hughes Network, Oracle, Pervasive Software, Riverbed Technology, SAP, Sybase, and Teradata. Four patents are asserted among the suits, related to data compression 6,597,812, 7,378,992, 7,415,530, 8,643,513), although some suits only assert three patents. Defendants’ compression products and services are accused of infringement. Both software and operating systems that provide data compression have been accused of infringing the patents in the campaign.
