HTC is the newest defendant added to Saint Lawrence Communications LLC’s only campaign, which asserts five patents that originated with VoiceAge. The patents-in-suit relate to wideband speech and audio compression technology (6,795,805, 6,807,524, 7,151,802, 7,191,123, 7,260,521). Saint Lawrence, a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation, acquired the patents from VoiceAge in 2013. HTC’s phones with HD voice are the accused products in the suit, and HD voice-capable phones are generally at issue in the campaign.
