This week Personalized Media Communications, LLC (PMC) added another lawsuit to a litigation campaign that it began in December 2000, this one against Samsung (2:15-cv-01754). PMC asserts six related digital signal processing patents (7,747,217; 7,752,649; 7,752,650; 7,856,649; 8,675,775; 8,711,885), all with earliest estimated priority date in November 1981, against Samsung’s digital televisions. The ‘775 patent, the only one of the six also asserted against Samsung smartphones, and the ‘885 patent, have not been asserted in previous litigation.
