IP Bridge Asserts Former Panasonic and NEC Patents Against OmniVision’s BSI Image Sensors
Japanese patent monetization firm IP Bridge, Inc. has added a second case to its more recent US litigation campaign. The NPE’s subsidiary Godo Kaisha IP Bridge 1 (IP Bridge 1) has asserted nine former Panasonic patents (7,279,727; 7,709,900; 8,804,796; 8,106,431; 8,378,401; RE41,867; 6,794,677; 6,709,950; 7,126,174) and one former NEC patent (6,538,324) against OmniVision (1:16-cv-00290). The complaint alleges that initial talks between the parties, begun in March 2016, broke down, leading to this week’s lawsuit. IP Bridge 1 accuses OmniVision of infringement through the manufacture and sale of CMOS image sensors that implement backside illumination (OmniBSI).
