New Apparent WiLAN Affliate Asserts Former Siemens Patents Against AT&T, Verizon, and Others
Wi-LAN Inc. (WiLAN) is apparently behind a new litigation campaign that hit AT&T (1:16-cv-00295), SOFTBANK (Sprint) (1:16-cv-00296), T-Mobile (1:16-cv-00297), United States Cellular (1:16-cv-00298) and Verizon (1:16-cv-00299) this week. On April 25, Network Managing Solutions, LLC (NMS) filed five separate complaints against the defendants, asserting a group of four patents—three patents (6,351,213; 6,420,968; 6,728,688) generally related to network alarm management technology, and one (6,553,099) generally concerning lawful intercept technologies. NMS accuses the defendants of infringing the patents-in-suit through their network management systems and processes and lawful interception systems and processes provided to law enforcement agencies.
