With new complaints filed against Lenovo and EMC (1:16-cv-10860) and NetApp (1:16-cv-10868), Intellectual Ventures I LLC and Intellectual Ventures II LLC (collectively, IV) have taken a sharp turn in what had been an exclusively financial services campaign. The new filings assert one (6,516,442) of the twenty patents already at issue in the existing campaign, against insurance providers HCC Insurance and Kemper, together with six patents now seen for the first time in litigation.
