Inventor-controlled Corydoras Technologies, LLC has filed a second suit in its sole litigation campaign to date, roughly one month after dismissal of the first. The new complaint accuses Apple (2:16-cv-00538) of infringing the same six related patents (7,778,664; 7,945,236; 7,945,287; 7,996,037; 8,024,009; 8,731,540) previously in suit, adding a more recently issued seventh patent (9,197,741) from the same 27-member family. The patents generally relate to various aspects of a mobile communications device that displays a mirror image of an object taken from a camera facing the direction of the display. The prior case (2:15-cv-00432), filed against Samsung, was dismissed with prejudice in mid-April, just two months after the court heard claim construction arguments, which appear, based on the parties’ briefing, to have also focused on validity issues.
