Cellular Communications  Equipment LLC (CCE), a subsidiary of publicly traded Acacia Research Corporation, has filed an additional suit against each of HTC (6:16-cv-00475) and ZTE (6:16-cv-00476). The two complaints also name wireless carriers as co-defendants, with AT&T, SOFTBANK (Sprint), and T-Mobile tagged in both, while Verizon (Cellco) is also tagged in the new HTC complaint. The new suits assert two former Nokia patents (8,055,820; 8,385,966) previously asserted, while adding a nineteenth patent (9,037,129) to what has become a sprawling litigation campaign involving 20 defendants and 19 petitions for inter partes review (IPR).
