Dominion’s QoS IP Switching Campaign Hits D-Link and Ericsson

June 9, 2016

QoS IP, LLC has filed two new cases in its switching campaign, hitting D-Link (6:16-cv-00487) and Ericsson (6:16-cv-00489). The new complaints follow a June 3 dismissal in the last of first three cases filed in the campaign in September 2015, against Alcatel-Lucent (before acquisition by Nokia). Cases against the other two defendants, Huawei and ZTE, were dismissed in March and February, respectively, all three dismissals with prejudice after earlier court documents suggest settlement. The sole asserted patent (7,385,982) generally relates to providing quality of service switching based on information not normally used for that purpose. The complaints target the defendants’ sale of switches, including those that support Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).
