Alacritech, Inc., a company founded by SCSI creator and Adaptec founder Larry Boucher, has resumed its long-dormant litigation campaign with three suits against CenturyLink (2:16-cv-00693); Dell (2:16-cv-00695); and SMS InfoComm, Wistron, and Wiwynn (2:16-cv-00692). The defendants are accused of infringing a group of eight networking patents through various servers, data centers, and services related to network infrastructure. These lawsuits are Alacritech’s first since the company switched its business model to patent licensing and assertion in 2013, after ceasing production of a line of network interface cards (NICs).
