The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) has cancelled several claims in a video game patent asserted by ADC Technology Inc. against Microsoft and Sony. In a final decision issued on July 1 in a covered business method (CBM) review initiated by the two companies (CBM2015-00026), the Board found that claims 8-14 of the 6,193,520 patent—all of those challenged—are invalid as obvious in light of multiple prior art references.
