Medical Monitoring and Paging [NPE] filed suit against Philips Electronics and three others medical technology providers over a patent related to automated event notification. Medical Monitoring and Paging is a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation and has filed one prior suit in 2009 with the same patent against General Electric and two others.  Medical Monitoring is the exclusive licensee of the in-suit patent.  Acacia has made several investments in medical technology patents in the past year and has initiated a number of  litigation campaigns against medical technology providers.  6/17, Southern District of Indiana, 1:2011cv00824.
