Rampage Files Suit Against HP in Printing Software Campaign

August 22, 2016

Rampage LLC has continued its attempt to piece together an infringement case for the single patent (9,053,410) that it has asserted in litigation to date. Its latest complaint accuses HP (1:16-cv-11681) of infringement through the sale of PageWide printers that allegedly incorporate a software raster image processor (RIP) supplied by Global Graphics SE (under the brand name Harlequin Host Renderer 11). The ‘410 patent generally relates to printing with digital presses having multiple gray levels; Rampage asserted it directly against Global Graphics earlier this year in a case that has had some trouble getting off the ground.
