August 9, 2011- Mosaid Technologies announced plans to auction a covenant not to sue to a set of four patents purportedly related to E-911 services at the ICAP Ocean Tomo auction to be held September 27, 2011. Mosaid filed suit in July against Sony Ericsson and HTC. The patents originated from Zoltar Satellite Alarm Systems and were subsequently acquired by Allied Security Trust (AST). AST’s Hawthorne Hills subsidiary assigned the patents to Mosaid on 4/18/2011. Zoltar previously asserted the patents in litigation against Audiovox, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sanyo, Sprint, and UTStarcom in 2005.
