Visual Interactive Phone Concepts [NPE] filed suit against United States Cellular over two patents related to phones with memory chips for storing transaction data. This case is a transfer from the Eastern District of Michigan. Since 2005, VIPC has filed suit nine other times over the same two patents against defendants including AT&T, Apple, and Google. Both of VIPC’s patents survived ex parte reexaminations in 2010. 8/3, Northern District of Illinois, 1:2011cv05289.
