Verizon Ordered to Pay $115 Million to Holder of Video Patents

August 3, 2011- ActiveVideo filed suit against Verizon on May 27, 2010 in the Eastern District of Virginia and accused Verizon’s FiOS system of infringing five patents related to interactive TV and video-on-demand services [2:2010cv00248]. Verizon filed counterclaims seeking declaratory judgment of non-infringement and invalidity of the patents-in-suit, as well as its own claim for patent infringement against ActiveVideo.
