July 21, 2011- Google filed a motion to stay yesterday in a move some speculate could signal that the company may be considering a settlement with Oracle. Oracle filed suit against Google last August alleging infringement of seven Java-related patents Oracle acquired from Sun Microsystems. Thus far, the legal battle has included petitions for reexaminations of the in-suit-patents Google and claims by Oracle for damages in excess of $2.6 billion. Trial is scheduled to start October 31.
