Gabriel De La Vega, Jr. has followed up an August 2019 lawsuit against Facebook in the District of Delaware with new Western District of Texas cases filed against Alphabet (Google) (6:19-cv-00617), Amazon (6:19-cv-00618), IBM (6:19-cv-00614), and Microsoft (6:19-cv-00612) over live video broadcasting features on their respective platforms: the YouTube platform and app; Amazon’s Twitch platform and app; IBM Cloud Video (formerly Ustream) platform; and Microsoft’s Mixer platform and app. The patent broadly concerns streaming real-time video content over a cellular network and viewing that content on a mobile device, along with a system that pays a “digital currency” fee, based on the number and duration of stream views, to the “mobile content provider” producing the stream.
