E-Link Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese company that sells WORMHOLE hoverboards, has sued Shenzhen Chitado Technology Co., Ltd. (1:19-cv-08468), a company allegedly organized under the law of the People’s Republic of China, for patent infringement in the Northern District of Illinois. E-Link asserts a single US patent, issuing just this past July and generally related to “a novel wheel design of vehicles, including but not limited to: wheels on hoverboards”. At issue are hoverboards sold on Amazon that caught the plaintiff’s eye “[i]n or around November 2019”; an Amazon seller using the identification “Magic Hover” and another selling under the ID “Gyroor” are also named as defendants in the suit.
