May 18, 2011- VirnetX announced that the company received a new US patent yesterday.  VirnetX (an NPE)  filed suit against Mitel and Siemens over two patents related to communications equipment in January 2011. Last year, VirnetX filed suit against Aastra, Apple, Cisco, and NEC.  Apple’s iPhone, iPod music player and iPad tablet computer were among the accused products.  The complaint in the 2010 suit also identified routers and servers made by Cisco and telecommunications equipment from Aastra, and NEC. VirnetX has sued Microsoft two times since 2007. The first suit resulted in a $100M+ award.  In August 2010, Microsoft reportedly settled for $200M.
