More of those patents that Texas monetization firm IP Edge LLC acquired in late 2019 from Empire Technology Development LLC, a subsidiary of Allied Inventors Management, LLC (AIM), have appeared in litigation. In new suits, Fury Technologies LLC, a controlled plaintiff, has accused 3DR (1:20-cv-00573), DJI Technology (2:20-cv-03827), DroneDeploy (1:20-cv-00572), Parrot (1:20-cv-03329), and Yuneec (1:20-cv-00574) of infringing two, generally related to determining an unmanned aerial vehicle’s (UAV) flight path based on surface modeling. Worksite drone platforms are at issue. Fury’s filings join a campaign begun last month by Sunset Licensing LLC over a former Empire Technology patent broadly directed to monitoring the speed of a vehicle.
