While Refiling a Gaggle of Prior Suits, WSOU Tags Dell Twice More

June 5, 2020

Amid a refiling spree this past week by WSOU Investments, LLC (d/b/a Brazos Licensing and Development), the NPE also added two new cases against prior defendant Dell (EMC, VMWare) (6:20-cv-00485, 6:20-cv-00486), bringing the total number of patents asserted, one per case, against Dell and its subsidiaries, to 12. The newly asserted patents generally relate to multi-path network traffic routing and network resource management, respectively, both received from Nokia. WSOU hit the reset button on the ten previous cases filed against Dell, as well as on the 12 cases filed against each of Microsoft and ZTE, dismissing the prior complaints without prejudice and refiling the suits back in the Western District of Texas.
