The US Justice Department has cleared Google’s pending $700M acquisition of ITA. (ITA supplies airfare information to online travel sites.) Online travel competitors including Microsoft, Expedia, and Kayak had opposed the acquisition on the grounds that it would create unfair competition in the online travel marketplace.
