In First Lawsuit, Shamrock Innovations Hits Acer Computers with a Serial ATA Interface
August 1, 2020
Shamrock Innovations, LLC has filed its first lawsuit, nearly three years after acquiring its patent assets from Intellectual Ventures LLC (IV). The NPE has accused Acer (6:20-cv-00696) of infringing two of those patents, generally related to a serial link between two computing “modules” through the provision of Acer computers that include a Serial ATA interface. The plaintiff pleads that the patented technology, coined “Split-Bridge”, was developed to “address data transfer performance issues in data processing and computing devices”.
