NantWorks, LLC and its subsidiary Nant Holdings IP, LLC have filed suit against Bank of America (2:20-cv-07872), alleging infringement through provision of its mobile banking system of eight patents broadly directed to identifying objects from digitally captured images. The plaintiffs also plead copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and breach of contract claims arising from an alleged set of interactions stretching from 2010 to 2018, beginning with a potential joint project (to develop improved mobile check deposit software) and ending shortly after the purported discovery of activity reports in a development database related to software used as part of the earlier failed collaboration.
