Advanced Optical Tracking Sues JVC, Mitsubishi, Verbatim, and Three Others

Advanced Optical Tracking filed three separate suits against JVC, Media Masters, Mitsubishi, Moser Baer India, Verbatim, and Victor Advanced Media alleging that the defendants’ Blu-Ray Recordable (BD-R) and rewritable (BD-RE) discs infringe a patent related to storing data on optical discs.  Advanced Optical Tracking has filed nine prior suits since October 2012 against Hitachi, Imation, MAM-A, Panasonic, Philips, Primera Technology, Sharp, Sony, and the Symmetry Group.  The patent-in-suit was issued to DPHI Acquisitions (d/b/a Dataplay) in January 2006 and was assigned to Advanced Optical Tracking by Enhanced Data Solutions in September 2012.  12/11, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01694; 1:2012cv01695; 1:2012cv01696.
