Content Extraction and Transmission Sues JPMorgan Chase Bank

November 15, 2012

Content Extraction and Transmission (CET) filed suit against JPMorgan Chase Bank, alleging that JPMorgan Chase Bank’s checking imaging and deposit services infringe four patents related to an application program interface that enables users to extract and transmit data.  Before being assigned to CET in October 2011, the patents-in-suit had been assigned to various entities (Millennium L.P.Eon-Net, and Glory Licensing) established by Mitchell Medina, one of the inventors.  Medina has filed more than 120 lawsuits since 1996 through several patent holding entities.  Since November 2011, CET has filed 12 patent infringement suits against Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and others.  11/14, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01462.
