New Empire IP Plaintiff Entity Sues Auto Companies as RPX Predicted

Vehicle Interface Technologies filed four separate suits against Ferrari, Ford, Jaguar, and Porsche, alleging that the defendants’ automotive infotainment systems infringe a patent related to a user interface that displays vehicle subsystem information.  These are the first four patent infringement suits filed by Vehicle Interface Technologies. In September, RPX reported the assignment of the patent from Empire IP to Vehicle Interface Technologies and predicted that a suit against auto companies was forthcoming. Empire IP is a programmatic patent enforcement entity that  has filed more than 50 patents suits against over 300 defendants since March 2011. Other Empire IP plaintiff entities that have filed patent infringement suits in 2012 include Cuozzo Speed Technologies, DietGoal Innovations, E-Contact Technologies, Jongerious Panoramic Technologies, Lennon Image Technologies, Potter Voice Technologies, Rotatable Technologies, and Secor View Technologies. 10/5, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01283; 1:2012cv01284; 1:2012cv01285; 1:2012cv01286.
