Xerox’s PARC Takes Social Media Giants to Federal Court

Xerox (Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)) has sued Facebook (2:20-cv-10753), Snap (2:20-cv-10755), and Twitter (2:20-cv-10754) in separate Central District of California complaints. Eight patents are asserted in overlapping sets across the three cases, against various features of the defendants’ social media platforms, including features related to targeted advertising; personalized search; notification delivery; managing comments, mentions, and replies; and combatting misinformation and fraud. This US litigation appears to be the first brought by Xerox in over a decade.
