Lumen View Sues Companies over Recruiting Software

September 26, 2012

Lumen View Technology (LVT) [NPE] filed suit against Captain D’s, Carrols Restaurant Group, and SnagAJob.com, alleging that the defendants’ websites that facilitate an evaluation between prospective employers and job seekers infringe a patent related to web tools that facilitate an evaluation between one party and another.  LVT has filed seven prior suits since March 2012 against Avotus, CollegeBound, EducationConnection, EducationDynamics, Mom Corps Services, and Zimride.  According to the complaint, LVT is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit, which was developed by Eileen Shapiro and Steven Mintz at DecisionSorter before being assigned to Dalton Sentry in September 2010.  In November 2010, two other patents from the Dalton Sentry portfolio were asserted by Blackstone River [NPE] against eHarmony, Humor Rainbow, Match.com, Matrima, Mom Corps Services, Plentyoffish, and True Beginnings.  That case was dismissed with prejudice in October 2011.  9/20, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01178.
