New Acacia Sub Sues Google with Open Market Patents

September 6, 2012

View 360 Solutions [NPE] filed suit against Google, alleging that Google’s Street View visualization product has directly infringed, and induced others to infringe, eight patents related to interactive visualization of image data.  This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by View 360 Solutions, a subsidiary of Acacia Research.  According to the complaint, View 360 Solutions is the exclusive licensee of the patents-in-suit.  RPX reviewed the in-suit patents as part of an open market opportunity (Ford Oxaal) in August 2009.  8/31, Eastern District of Texas, assigned to Judge Glenn T. Suddaby and referred to Magistrate Judge Therese Wiley Dancks, 1:2012cv01352.
