Inventor-controlled Media Chain, LLC has filed its first litigation, suing Roku (1:21-cv-00027) in the Western District of Texas over the provision of the Roku platform and various related hardware and software products. At issue are features for streaming media content, as well as collecting and processing user data for certain advertisement purposes. The plaintiff asserts six patents, generally related to authorizing the reproduction of media content and processing aggregate user data for marketing purposes.
