Quxuz [NPE] filed four separate suits against Automattic, BigCommerce, Element Fusion, and Soholaunch.com, alleging that the defendants’ websites and systems for document authoring, development, and distribution infringe a patent related to moderating external access to an electronic system for document authoring, development, and distribution.  These are the first patent infringement suits initiated by Quxuz.  The patent-in-suit was issued to The Perfect Web Corporation and was assigned to Quxuz by Patent Trust in July 2012.  Mark Baerwaldt is the named correspondent on the assignment from Patent Trust to Quxuz and the correspondent on the assignment in the Qxzab suit; however, the relationship between these two entities is currently unknown.  RPX reviewed the patent as part of an open market opportunity (Perfect Web) in October 2010.  8/17, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00492, 2:2012cv00493, 2:2012cv00494, 2:2012cv00495.
