Blue Spike Sues Belden and Miranda Technologies

Blue Spike [NPE] filed suit against Belden and Miranda Technologies, alleging that the defendants’ lip sync monitoring systems and software infringe four patents related to monitoring and analyzing systems.  Belden acquired Miranda Technologies, a Montreal-based maker of broadcasting equipment, in June 2012.  One of the in-suit patents (’175) was issued last month.  Blue Spike has filed over 10 prior suits since April 2004 against Attributor, BIO-key International, Echo Nest, Free Stream Media, iPharroJVCPanasonicPeer Media Technologies, Shazam Entertainment, SoundHound, Texas InstrumentsToshibaTuneSatVercury, Viggle, and Vobile.  The suit against JVC, Panasonic, and Toshiba was dismissed without prejudice in November 2005.  8/17, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00544.
