Data Distribution Technologies Sues RE/MAX, BRER Affiliates and Prudential Financial
Data Distribution Technologies (DDT) [NPE] filed suit against BRER Affiliates, RE/MAX, and Prudential Financial, alleging that the defendants’ web interface provided through their websites infringe a patent related to updating and e-mailing product information to subscribers. DDT, a client of General Patent Corporation (GPC) [NPE], has filed four prior suits since December 2011 against Kayak Software, Pricegrabber.com, Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, and Zoolert. According to its website, GPC is responsible for patent licensing and enforcement for over 15 NPEs including Advanced Video Technologies [NPE], Delivery Solutions [NPE], and Encryption Storage Technologies [NPE]. The patent-in-suit originated with NetSpan and was assigned to DDT in November 2010. 8/3, District of New Jersey, assigned to Judge Jose L. Linares and referred to Magistrate Judge Michael A.
