Orientview Technologies [NPE] filed suit against SkyMall, alleging that SkyMall’s website that includes a recommended products list infringes a patent related to the presentation of viewer specific information.  This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by Orientview Technologies.  The patent-in-suit originated with Firestar Systems, which later assigned it back to inventor Michael Crawford.  Crawford assigned the patent to Blue Hills Braintree LLC in November 2009.  According to the complaint, Orientview Technologies is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit.  The patent-in-suit was also litigated three times under an exclusive license by Gildersleeve Holdings [NPE] between January 2010 and February 2011.  8/7, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01016.
