NPEs have faced a number of legal and legislative changes over recent years, as reflected in the decline of litigation activity since its peak in 2011-2012. However, a closer consideration of the data accumulated over the past decade and a half suggests that the current and coming economic risk from NPE litigation may rival what it was at that peak.
