Online Travel Site Files Declaratory Judgment against I2Z Technology

Hipmunk filed an action for declaratory judgment against I2Z Technology [NPE], seeking declaration that its travel search site does not infringe a patent related to location mapping.  I2Z Technology has filed three prior suits since September 2011 against over 15 defendants, including AOL, Google, Kayak, Microsoft, and WebMD.  The patent-in-suit originated with Brigham Young University and was assigned to I2Z Technology in July 2011.  7/2, Northern District of California, assigned to Magistrate Judge Elizabeth D. Laporte, 3:2012cv03409.
